Catherine Micaud Landscape Architecture

about_profile

Thank you for your interest in my design services.

Catherine (Kia) Micaud Landscape Architecture is a one woman design firm specializing in quality, environmentally sound residential, multi-family and small scale commercial landscape design. Each design is responsive to the project's architectural style and the surrounding landscape. Budget and maintenance restrictions are carefully considered while striving for an aesthetically rich but sustainable landscape. Through low overhead and an efficient design process, design fees are kept affordable.

I am a graduate of the University of Washington Department of Landscape Architecture and have been a licensed Landscape Architect since 1988. I first worked for Jongejan Gerrard McNeal in Bellevue, WA. on a variety of public park and trail projects. After working there for six years I decided to pursue my interest in detailed residential landscape design. I went to work for Kemper/Iversen Ltd. in Seattle, a design/build firm that specializes in quality residential landscapes.

When my family moved to Bainbridge Island in 1996, I began my own design firm that also specializes in quality residential garden design. I do not impose the same design style on each new project but rather am guided by the qualities of the site, the style of architecture, the clients intended use of the garden and the maintenance resources available to design a custom garden for each client.
